The "Whoa-Nellie Deli" in Lee
Vining Once in a while a very special
place comes to my attention and the "Whoa Nelli Deli" is one.
Housed in a Mobil Station/Quickie Mart/Gift
Shop at the Highway 395 and 120 (Tioga Road) intersection, it's 4-star food
in a quick-mart atmosphere. Minus the deli, this quick mart is
no different than the million you've been in before. But off to the
side is a walk-up deli serving Bison, Lobster, breakfast quiche and pizza.
See the menu and photos below. During summer only, during the time that the
Tioga Road is open, the Mobil Station is rockin'. Thursday and Sunday
nights are live music, basically open mike for local talent... It's a
very hip place, food is WAY over-the-top good, and you'll love it.
It's no cheap date, as you can see, but it's worth it.
